SONGWRITER SSHOWCASE

Songwriters Showcase is a unique monthly concert series held at The Gibson Centre for Community, Arts & Culture. (http://www.gibsoncentre.com/) in Alliston, On.  This is a show that celebrates and is devoted to the art and craft of songwriting.  Founder and host George Scott welcomes premier singer songwriters from across Ontario and beyond. Whether it is stories of the road or tales of lost love, you’ll be entranced by the pure honesty and passion portrayed through these original songs.

A Labour of Love …

Songwriters Showcase is a performance committed completely to the singer and the song.  Two feature artists join George in an intimate and acoustic setting with shows running throughout October to May.   Each singer performs their original compositions in a rotation format.  The show starts at 8:00 and runs for about 90 minutes including an intermission where guests can find refreshments at the licensed Gibson Centre café and perhaps purchase our feature artist’s CD’s.  Cafe style seating in the licensed Honda Theatre is first come first served.  Admission is only $15 at door.  A special dinner & show package is also offered by East Side Marios (705 435 9656) in Alliston.  For only $25 you get a four course meal AND tickets to the show.

The Gibson Centre (http://www.gibsoncentre.com/) is an 1889 heritage building that began its life as a factory. Located at 63 Tupper St. W., Alliston (705 435 2828), it has been transformed into a thriving centre for community, arts and culture. It offers a performance hall, art gallery, licensed café, studio spaces and banquet facilities.
